COAA Award Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for the Annual COAA Awards! If you know an outstanding individual or organization deserving of recognition, please submit a nomination by downloading and completing the Nomination Letter Linked above!
These awards will be presented at the annual conference in Orange Beach. Talk with your chapter members and fellow associates and submit your recommendations. We have several qualified people throughout the state and we ask that each chapter select one or more, and submit a nomination. Please submit a short biography with your nomination. Please make sure that the spelling is correct for the person you are submitting for. All nominations need to be submitted by March 23, 2026. We are excited to see who you nominate!
COAA Code Official of the Year-This code official will have at least 5 years’ experience and is someone you feel is doing an outstanding job in their position.
COAA Lifetime Achievement-This person will be close to retirement and has been an inspiration to others. They have worked to better their community with their contributions to code related issues and to their jurisdiction. Typically, this is a person with at least twenty years of experience.
COAA Rising Star-This person will have at least three years of experience as a code official and is seen as contributing to the advancement of code enforcement in their jurisdiction. This is someone who goes above and beyond, has a desire to help others, and is seen as a future leader in their jurisdiction, COAA, or even with ICC.
COAA Chapter of the Year-This award is given to one of our local chapters. They have worked diligently to help their membership through code education, enforcement, and understanding of their roles in the building/code enforcement industry.
